What is Public Health?
The field of public health deals with implementing, evaluation and regulating various healthcare systems to meet the needs of the public. Public health workers perform a variety of different functions at an individual, family and community level. In addition to dealing with issues with the healthcare system, they also actively participate in social work, particularly in educating people about nutrition, health and hygiene, providing counseling for people going through a difficult time, supervising rehabilitation programs, distributing aid, and formulating and analyzing public health policies.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates an increase of 23% in the employment opportunities of Medical and Health Services Managers within the 2012 to 2022 period. The BLS further reports that these professionals earned a median wage of $92,810 per year in May 2014.
